| Curriculum Leadership Team formed | |
| Dear District 48 Parents:
At the meeting held on September 19, 2006, the District 48 Board of Education approved the formation of a Curriculum Leadership team (CLT) for our school district. This is a group to be made up of teachers, parents, administrators, and a school board member formed to general oversee the development of a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state standards for District 48. You will note from the information attached that we are seeking two parents district wide to serve on this group. If you are interested, please call or email me with your name, school and phone number by Friday, October 6. If more than two parents volunteer, two names will be drawn by lot from those submitting their names. The first meeting of this group will be convened in October. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have more specific questions about the intent or operation of this group. Thanks very much! Sincerely, John H. Correll, Ed.D. Superintendent |

Salt Creek School District 48 Curriculum Leadership Team (CLT) |

| Charge of CLT The Curriculum Leadership Team will monitor and prioritize curriculum needs in the school district. It will provide recommendations to the Superintendent and Board of Education regarding curricular areas that need review and potential revision. The goal is to develop a comprehensive coordinated curriculum across the schools K-8 that is vertically and horizontally aligned with state standards. The first year, the team will complete a scan of District 48 curriculum, to identify in each subject area (a) when the curriculum was last reviewed, (2) the state of any existing written descriptions of that curriculum, (3) the publication date of the textbooks and other written materials used, (4) the degree of alignment with the Illinois State Learning Standards, and (5) the degree of articulation with other subject areas. This analysis will help us prioritize areas that need attention first. Composition of CLT
This first year, team members will serve for one year, after which new applications will be sought to serve staggered terms. Current members may reapply. Meetings The group will meet quarterly (October, December, February and April) during the school day, with additional meetings called as needed. Team building facilitation will take place at the first meeting. Back to top. |
